Cross-border Partnership Forum Haskovo

In hotel "Haskovo" in Haskovo a Cross-border Partnership Forum under the project "Equal employment opportunities” was organized on 14.06.2012. The participants of the Forum were more than 40 persons: representatives of municipal administrations of the cross-border region Haskovo /Bulgaria/ and Edirne /Turkey/, representatives of Labour office - Haskovo, educational institutions, representatives of vulnerable groups – long-term unemployed people, disabled, poor, young people with low educational level, employees who want to improve their professional competences, representatives of NGOs and others. Guests at the event were the Chairman of the Union of Merich Municipalities /Partner organization in the project/ and Mayor of Uzunköprü Municipality – Mr. Enis Isbilen and representatives of the Union of Province Edirne.
The Project Manager Mrs. Tsvetelina Neshkova presented the project activities, implemented to the present moment, as well as the objectives and results, which were realized within the project. Mrs. Tsvetelina Neshkova presented also the other project initiatives of Association “Alliance for Regional and Civil Initiatives”, implemented under the Cross-border programmes Bulgaria-Romania, Bulgaria-Serbia, Bulgaria-Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
Mr. Enis Isbilen welcomed the guests in the event and made a presentation of the Municipalities, members of the Union of Merich Municipalities, their long-term objectives, mission and vision for development, initiatives undertaken, current and future projects.   Mr. Isbilen presented the implemented activities on behalf of Union of Merich Municipalities within the project.
During the Forum a presentation under the topic “Global Economic Crisis and its Effects in Turkey“ by Mr. Oguz Demir, lecturer in “Istanbul Commerce University”, as during his performance the current economic trends in Turkey, the ways of overcoming the global crisis there, the changes in the government, the banking and company sectors, running from 2001 till the present moment, were presented.
Mrs. Katya Atanasova made an overview of the profile of Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry and presented the Chamber’s experience in projects, implemented under the Programme for Cross-border Cooperation IPA Bulgaria-Turkey, mainly in the area of increasing the commercial capacity of companies, exchange of best practices in the area of tourism, improvement of the collaboration between structures of the civil society and administrative structures, raising NGOs and SMEs capacity, etc.
Ms. Tonka Sakalieva of PGME "Stoicho and Kitsa Marchevi", Haskovo, presented the school, its structure, specialties, current and future initiatives. Ms. Sakalieva presented a joint project implemented by the school in cooperation with the Technical Industrial Vocational High School, Lyuleburgaz, whose main objectives are to improve the infrastructure of the schools, increasing the theoretical and practical training of teachers and improving the quality of vocational training in the beneficiary schools.

Among the guests from Turkey were Mrs. Hulya Isler, Director of the Union of Merich Municipalities, Mr. Nuran Uslu - Mayor of Begendik Municipality, Mr. Ismail Iscan, Mayor of Enez Municipality, Mr. Oguz Tekin, Mayor of Havsa Municipality, Mr. Ahmet Gunay, member of the Municipal Council of Uzunköprü, Mr. Haynettin Sayci, member of Municipal Council of Enez Municipality, Mr. Yusuf Yacniz - member of the Municipal Council of Uzunköprü, Mr. Arda Yuce, member of the District Council of Uzunköprü.
